Welcome back for a brand new episode of Some Like It Scott! On this week's episode of the podcast, the two Scotts are dissecting what might be the most talked about movie of the year to-date, at least in terms of its meaning and relevance to society, and that is the Todd Phillips-directed, Joaquin Phoenix-led, DC villain origin story, Joker. In maybe their longest review so far, the two Scotts tackle the performances, the characters, the plot, and - maybe most of all - its themes, and make some time at the end to discuss what the point of the movie is, as well as what its legacy might be. To lighten the mood, they then shift gears to discuss those Martin Scorsese comments about comic book movies - and specifically the MCU - before wrapping up the episode with discussions of trailers for Birds of Prey, 1917, and Richard Jewell! See time codes below:
3:11 - Joker
1:27:32 - Martin Scorsese thinks the MCU isn't cinema
1:35:29 - Trailer talk
